Snow Part Deux

The girls were out of school yesterday and today for another snow event.  We got more ice then we did snow.  They enjoyed playing and sledding in it.  Hope everyone is safe and warm.

Sophie's riding

Sophie is still enjoying riding.  She has started cantering.  She looked so good up on her horse yesterday.  I was proud of her when a sudden thunder cloud came and Shawnee kind of bucked a little, Sophie held on and didn't freak out.  We were going back to the barn and she was walking Shawnee and her coach ran over a stick with the golf cart.  It freaked Shawnee out, but Sophie held on to the reigns.  Her coach said that 90% of her kids would have dropped the them, but she held on.  I am so glad we found something that she truly seems to love.

Sophie Lu

Check out Sophie riding.  She loves it.  She still goes once a week.  Next week she is going to camp.  I know she will have a good time.

Beam Routine

Here is Maddie's new beam routine for her prep gold.  She's supposed to do a front punch off of the beam, but she decided not to.

4 years

It was 4 years ago today that I met Sophie in a little conference room in Shenyang. She came off of the elevator smiling. She looked a little timid and scared, but she soon warmed up. We had a rough couple of days, but I wouldn't change anything. She has added so much joy to our family. We are so glad that she is in our lives. We love you Sophie Lu!

Fresh Beat Band

The girls love the Fresh Beat band. I'm glad that they do. It keeps them from watching ICarly and Victorious.

Softball

Last night Sophie had a softball game. She did so much better than she's been doing. She went 2-2. She totally rocked it. We are so proud of her. Her team also came a little bit closer to winning. They lost 11-10. They actually came back from being 5 down at one point.


Today is also my 26th post for the challenge. I still can't believe it.

Videos

Here is Maddie tonight at gym. The girls got to try bars using grips. They were all so cute. She would hold her hand up and just grin. I think she spent more time putting chalk and water (like the big girls) on them more than she spent on the bars.

Here is Sophie's foul ball from Monday night. Sadly she struck out both times she got up to bat. She tries so hard when she's up there. She wants to hit a home run. I know that she will soon...

Merry Christmas

State Meet

Maddie did great! She finished 2nd out of 14 girls with a 36.2. She was consistent and looked like she was having fun. He coach was great. He cheered for her and gave her high fives and hugs. I love the new gym.

Pumpkin Patch Invitational

Here is Maddie's last meet with this gym. Maddie did great. She got 3rd place All Around, 1st place vault, 2nd floor, 6th on beam and bars. She competed against the girls on her own team so we all pretty much knew where everybody was going to fall. It was disappointing that she didn't get to compete against everyone else, but it was a fitting finish to the season with this gym. We are moving on and Maddie can't wait. She will get to compete at states with the new gym and it will be just her and the team mate leaving with us.

Metro Retro Meet

Today was Maddie's Retro Metro Meet. The whole team did awesome! Maddie got 2nd all around. She was just happy she got her stride circle (and so was I).

Maddie turned 7

Well last Friday, Maddie turned 7. It's hard to believe she's 7. I can't believe the baby is gone. There's something about going from 6 to 7 that just seems like they aren't babies anymore. She doesn't like to hold my hand as much. It's wonderful seeing her grow, but it makes me sad as well. This past weekend we were going to go to Chicago for the day, but the flights were full. We were then going to Washington D.C., but the flights were full. We ended up going to the Mall of Georgia and the girls got a manicure and a new outfit. They thought the manicure was cool except for the wax on their hands. They didn't like that part very much. This weekend Maddie has her second meet. I can't wait to see it. She finally got her stride circle with some consistency so she should score pretty well. Here's some pictures from this weekend and also the video from when she did her stride circle 3 times in a row.

Maddie's mock meet

Here are videos from Maddie's mock meet today. She did a great job. She went a little fast on the floor and finished before the music, but she looked good. Their first meet is 8/28.

Talent Show

Tonight was the girls talent show. I was so proud of them. Sophie did the duck dance with her class and then Maddie and Sophie did Under the Bamboo Tree together. They were great!

Here are some videos. Sophie has gotten better at basketball. This past Saturday's game she made 4 baskets! She was awesome.

Sophie scored 2 baskets in her upward game on Saturday. She was so excited. She did really well and we are so proud of her.

Basketball and Parade

Yesterday was a busy day. Sophie had her first basketball game and then marched in the Christmas parade later in the night. The game was a hoot. She was kind of unsure about things at first. This clip was when it clicked for whatever reason. I loved watching it and she seemed to really enjoy playing.

Later on in the night was the Christmas parade. Sophie is doing baton again this year like last year. She actually made the whole parade route walking. She looked so cute out there. Maddie stayed with us instead of riding their float and her school's float. She looked so grown up drinking her hot chocolate.
