The girls have to complete solar systems projects by Friday. We found out about it this past Friday. Good thing I had already been planning them because they knew they were coming, just didn't know when. When I showed Maddie this
snowglobe, she knew immediately it was what she wanted to do. We had the jar and the paint, I just need to buy the modeling clay and fishing line. She rolled all of the shapes for the planets and then inserted the fishing line. She baked it for 20 minutes at 275 and then let it cool. Once they were cooled, it was time for the fun part. She had fun painting them and figuring out which colors she needed to add. I love the way Earth (with the moon attached) and Saturn came out. The hardest part of this whole project was getting them to hang in the jar. I brought a plastic cross stitch thing from Walmart and used that. I tried gluing it to the lid with the planets attached and it was just to heavy. I ended up duct taping it to the lid. Maddie then put the water and glitter in. I love how it works. I think it's one of my favorite projects ever. Now on to Sophie's. She's doing a shoebox with the planets attached inside.
