Sophie Freshman Year 2018-2019
The school year is winding down and it's time to move on from Freshman year. I'll do each girl with their own post so they have their own reminders.
Starting with Sophie. I'm pretty sure she had a great year. She did lots of things and put herself out there more. She made some new friends. Tried some new things and worked hard this year. She's finishing with As and Bs. Not bad for freshman year.
In the summer (before school started) of freshman year she spent most of her time at band and working at the FFA horse camp. She loves working at the horse camp as a JC.
During the year Sophie was in Marching Band and FFA. Those were her two activities she was involved with throughout the year. She loved them both. She had a lot of fun playing during football games and marching. She LOVES FFA. She won the chapters green hand award. She also got her learner's license this year.
I'm super proud of her for stepping out of her comfort zone. She will do amazing things these next three years and I'm glad I'm along for the ride.

Summer
This summer has been crazy busy. Between cheerleading camps, friends coming here, girls going there, and then regular camps... it's just been really busy. Thanks to their dad for driving them all around.
FFA Horse camp.
This was Sophie's second and last year at horse camp. She loves, loves, loves it. Sadly because she will be 14 (oh my) in September she won't be able to go to camp next year. She will be able to go the following year as a junior counselor (fingers crossed). Horse camp is her happy place. I remember dropping her off the first year and she said she didn't want to go. When we picked her up on the following Friday, she said she didn't want to leave. This year she said she wanted to go, but was nervous. Then I think when she realized she had all the same counselors as the year before and she knew several girls, she was fine. When we picked her up again on Friday she said she didn't want to leave. Oh how I wish we could have sent her every week. She would love it. They ride, learn all about horses, swim, have team building exercises, and just have a great time.
Winshape Camp
This is without a doubt one of Maddie's favorite places on Earth. She has talked non stop about it. This was her second year. This year her skills were Archery, volleyball, pottery, handcrafts, cooking, and indoor rock climbing. She loves her skills, but she also loves getting closer to God. She loves going to the worship services that they have at camp. This one is a two week camp. She said she wasn't homesick until about Tuesday or Wednesday of the week that she was coming home. She loves it though.

Rain
It feels like it has been raining forever. Everything is wet and muddy and flooded. That didn't stop the girls from doing what they love... playing in the rain. These two love being outside when it rains. They would sit out all day if they could have.
