BFF's

This is Maddie and her BFF.  They have been inseparable for about 2 years now.  They are 9 months apart, Maddie being the youngest.  They were on the same training team at the old gym and never really hung out.  It wasn't until 2 years ago when her mom and I started talking that they bonded.  They are like little twins.  They are hilarious together.  They have never fought and if they did, they never told us.  Now we need to find Sophie a BFF....

An update

Almost a month without an update, how shameful... There just hasn't been a lot going on here lately that's been out of the ordinary. We had two gymnastics meets in February and some Girl Scout stuff thrown in for fun, but that's about it. I was lazy and didn't get the girls pictures for Chinese New Year. I wanted to take them to a park and get them, but it's been cold or rainy. I'm going to try soon though. Here are some pictures from this last month. Maddie's gym meet stuff will be posted on her blog shortly.

Beam Routine

Here is Maddie's new beam routine for her prep gold.  She's supposed to do a front punch off of the beam, but she decided not to.

Goings On

This past weekend Maddie had a meet in Gulf Shores. You can check out her video here. Here's a picture of her and her BFF at the beach.  They enjoyed being at the beach more than the meet :).
They were trying to make a heart.
Here is Sophie prior to her horse back riding lesson yesterday.  She said she had a good time and they got to trot yesterday.  I love her snazzy paddock boots.

Dance recital

In a couple of weeks Maddie has her dance recital.  She takes it Wednesday nights after gym.  It's her and 5 or 6 of her teammates.  She loves it.  She had stopped taking dance for a while, but she really wanted to go back.  They don't do a lot of ballet.  It's mostly contemporary.  She has been improving her leaps.  They are doing 3 routines for her recital.  Here are some pictures of her in 2 of the costumes.

Savannah

Last weekend we went to Savannah for Maddie's meet. You can click here to find out how she did. I wanted to share some pictures. We headed down Thursday afternoon. This year we went to Paula Deen's restaurant Lady's and Sons. It was awesome. We had the buffet and it was heavenly. Maddie ate 2 pieces of fried chicken, 3 ribs and some veggies. It's a good thing she's in gymnastics ;). Friday Maddie competed and then afterwards we went to River Street. It was rainy and dark so I didn't get any pictures there. We ate at a place called Spanky's. It was pretty good. Saturday we were heading home. This time we went to Tybee Island. It was chilly and windy on the beach, but it was nice. We went to a Marine Science center that we had gone to when Maddie was about 3. The girls loved seeing all of the fish. They were a little disappointed though that they didn't get to see any sharks. We ate at a little place called Fannie's in Tybee Island and it was good as well. We were going to go to the park to see the fountain that we went to last year that they turn green, but when we got there it was Girl Scout central. There were Girl Scout's everywhere and no place to park. We decided to head home after that.

It was a good trip and we can't wait to go back next year.We did pretty good at eating at local restaurant's. We ate at Wendy's on Friday afternoon just because it was quick and before Maddie competed. Our hotel was in Port Wentworth which was only about 10 minutes from where we competed. It was nice and quiet and had an indoor pool. That is always the biggest requirement. My aunt does have some pictures from the girls swimming.
